Hermien Roelvert-van Gils

Biography

Hermien Roelvert-van Gils has been in the environmental filmmaking industry for over 14 years. After completing her studies in Business Communication, (specialising in visual communication) at North-West University, she started out as a TV-editor and later progressed to producer/director of factual content. For the past 14 years she specialised in wildlife and nature content creation both behind and in front of the lens. She won the SAB Environmental Video category in 2015 and has been nominated for a SAFTA award. Following her passion for nature, Hermien launched Skydrum Films in 2015. Her first independent documentary is currently on the film festival circuit and hopefully soon on smaller screens across the globe.
