Biography

Award-winning producer and co-founder of the esteemed independent film house, Trial by Media Films, Naledi Bogacwi has a master’s degree in film and television. Her journey into the cinematic realm began with her first feature film, Letters of Hope, which premiered in competition at the 40th Durban International Film Festival where it was awarded for Artistic Bravery. Her follow-up feature, Surviving Gaza garnered fourteen nominations at the Africa Academy Awards where it secured three awards, including the Best Director. Banned is her debut feature film.
