Biography
A film and TV writer, director, and producer who began her career at the National Film and Television School in the UK. After earning her master's degree, she launched into comedy writing, then transitioned to drama, earning a South African Film and TV Award for the popular female prison drama Lockdown. Moving into film directing, she achieved success with award-winning short films such as The Virgin Vegan and Mma Moeketsi. Her highly anticipated debut feature narrative Real Estate Sisters released on Netflix in April 2024. She co-founded Totam Zea Collective with Zoe Ramushu. Beyond her creative work, Rea actively promotes diversity in the industry through S Working In Film and TV and serves on the advisory board of Tshwane University of Technology's drama and film department.
