Omolemo Molefe

Biography

Omolemo Molefe is a director and writer based in Johannesburg. She began her career as a performer and stage manager. She has created seven short films, which focus on narratives that promote African characters who can live multifaceted and unconventional lives through story, during her undergraduate degree at AFDA Film School. Her recent work explored the story of an exploited and undermined sex worker set in a near-dystopian South Africa. She views her work as a form of advocacy that she hopes to continue in the future.
