8mm film represented the first time that ordinary people could make motion pictures of their lives, in an era before television launched in South Africa. Using dozens of reels of found footage and personal archives, this experimental documentary shows where people with access to cameras in 1960s and 70s South Africa chose to point them. The result is a birth-to-death journey of intimate scenes of anonymous lives.
